In 1976, she was an international star when she scored the first ever perfect 10 on the asymmetric bar at the Montreal Olympic Games. In addition the feat, she achieved another six perfect 10s which made her the youngest Olympic gold medalist in history, at just 14 years of age. In addition to helping Nadia Comaneci attracted attention from every angle however, she also assisted in helping Romania find itself a place in the world map. This sporting legend made her a world-wide sensation after she came up with an unbeatable scoring. The legend she created was legendary as well as helped make gymnastics a popular sport around the globe. The sport changed the way people view female athletes.
