The family was initially located in Buenos Aires, but moved to Victoria when she was 6. Taylor Joy claims that her move was a very difficult experience. She was not willing to learn English and believed she would be able to relocate back to Argentina. Hill House became her school that she chose after being required to switch schools. After that, she attended Queen's Gate School and studied ballet, while also performing in school's productions. When she dropped out of school at the age of 16, Taylor-Joy pursued a full-time acting career. Taylor-Joy had always wanted to become an actor.
